THE NAUTICAM NA-R5C UNDERWATER HOUSING FOR THE CANON EOS R5 C CAMERA
The NA-R5C underwater housing is another cool invention by Nauticam. With the Canon R5 C, photographers can use both old EF lenses with an adapter and the new RF optics. Nauticam has made it easy by integrating the NA-R5C into the N120 port system. You can attach Canon's EF to RF mount adapters to the camera before putting it into the housing. When you use the EOS R5 C with the adapter and a supported EF lens in the housing, it's just like setting it up on a Nauticam Canon N120 Cinema EF Mount Port Chart. And as more RF lenses come out, Nauticam will update the Port Chart with the right port and extension ring combos.
The Nauticam team is all about giving underwater photographers easy access to controls, with most controls within reach of the comfy rubberized handles. On the NA-R5 C, they've put dual thumb levers and sub-levers by the right handle. The top thumb lever works the "AF-On" and the lower one does "Menu" or "Q", while the sub-lever handles "M-Fn" and "Record". There's a thumb lever for "Playback" and a switch to switch between LCD and EVF by the left handle.
You'll find big knurled and rubberized control dials for the camera's main and sub command dials. The two-stage trigger is great for smooth focus and shooting. Plus, you can easily reach additional buttons like "Menu" and "Focus Point Selection" from the handles.
There's an optional 16703 Control Kit for the NA-R5C to use with the Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. You can access the Canon Control Ring and Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter from the top left side (ADAP FN knob).
External Battery Pack
To support 8K 60p internal Canon Cinema RAW Light recording, an external power source is required. At the bottom of the housing is space to accomodate a USB-C power bank. Here are two known compatible batteries with more to come:
Anker PowerCore III 19,200mAh Huge Cell Capacity 45W Power Delivery Portable Charger (Dimensions: 169x79x22.4mm)
ZMI 20000mah 65W PD battery (Dimensions: 160.4x81.8x21.5mm)
I'm actually using this one:
VEEKTOMX 65W Laptop Power Bank 20000mAh Fast Charging Portable Laptop Charger USB C PD 3.0 Battery Bank
Very important when you're choosing your battery pack is the size.
15.65 cm L x 2.49 cm W x 7.39 cm H is the maximum size you can fit inside the housing.
