In 2003, seeking new adventures and opportunities, Simone relocated to Egypt. This move marked a pivotal moment in his life; he embraced his dream of becoming a diving instructor and filmmaker. Over the years, he immersed himself in the diving industry, gaining invaluable experience and honing his skills. His deep appreciation for the underwater environment inspired him to create his own production company in 2008, allowing him to fully dedicate himself to filmmaking. Through his work, he aimed to share the breathtaking beauty and fragility of marine ecosystems with a wider audience.
Simone’s breakthrough came in 2019 when he decided to enter international video contests. His exceptional talent did not go unnoticed, and he quickly gained recognition as an award-winning wildlife, nature, and underwater videographer. His films, characterized by stunning visuals and compelling narratives, resonate with audiences and highlight the importance of marine conservation.
In addition to his filmmaking, Simone is passionate about education. He conducts videography workshops and lectures, sharing his expertise with both enthusiasts and seasoned professionals. He served as a fixer and underwater assistant for National Geographic on the documentary "Ocean" (2007) and contributed to the acclaimed series "Hostile Planet" (2019). More recently, he worked as the first underwater operator for Discovery Channel and CNN, contributing his expertise to documentary projects that explore the mysteries of the ocean.
Simone’s work has been recognized with multiple awards, including the International Wildlife Film Festival Award for Best Underwater Cinematography and the Audience Choice Award at the Ocean Conservation Film Festival.
